Following extensive research undertaken
at the University of Reading's Isotype collection, I explored contextualizing pictograms, icons and alphabetic characters, looking at the semantic relationship of form and color. Various explorations were undertaken, using similar methods applied by those of the Isotype pictographic system.

As part of MECA's visiting artist lecture series, Professor Luuk Bertus from the graphic design department encouraged the design of hand-lettering by students, experimenting with the relationships of form, hand-made type and the manual printing process. Posters were screen printed with two colors, then hung around the college to announce the visiting lecturer. Design for Alexis Rockman and Sarah Charlesworth lectures, assisting in printing for other posters in the series.
